Actually no, I don’t think I’m a coach. What a weird accusation. But do whatever you need to.
Are you under the impression that you have to be a coach in order to recognize BS when you hear it? Is that why you don’t recognize it in his comments?

1) natty 16 2) natty 18 3) sc 14 to break the streak 4) LSU 12 5) UL 16
In the Dabo era. That’s not with much thought. Could probably come up with a better list.

Love both of those too. Had the Auburn game in there originally. ND was a classic. So many good games over the last decade.

(1) Dabo as a player in AL's 1993 championship game. (2) Dabo's first win against BC in 2008 as interim HC. (3) 2008 win over U.of S.Caroline ... Dabo gets HC job. (4) 2012 bowl victory over LSU (Dabo's first signature win over a true FB power) (5) Natty 2016 (6) Natty 2018
So OK, a little bit of hyperbole from Dabo about today's win.
But for a season with unprecedented challenges on offense with (1) new people on O-Line, (2) not-yet-ready-for-prime-time [new] QB; (3) hugely under-performance by the 'pass catchers' (4) unbelievable bad luck with injuries / illnesses (which have severely constrained any semblance of continuity ... all of which have put a HUGE burden on our heroic 2021 defense ... the FSU game represents over-coming adversity in the context of over-blown expectations by Clemson Nation. FSU game represents overcoming adversity via grit and perserverance like few others in Dabo's coaching career.
When you think of Dabo's life (i.e., overcoming adversity through grit and perseverance); maybe this is why he made the overstatement.
But FSU game is arguably a top 10 win for him.

Yeah but from a coaching perspective, some of those playoff games were not a "coaching" game...
FSU might rank up there just because they kids were fighting against adversity and just kept the faith.
Others.
Maryland 2011 (I think Dabo's best coaching job) 2009 Miami 2017 NC game 2012 LSU
Cuse in 18 works too.

If FSU win is a Top5 win for Dabo in his career, then i think it shows how much the Clemson program has fallen off the cliff this year.
What is so outstanding about beating FSU? FSU has a losing record. FSU lost to Jacksonville State at home!! Jacksonville State!!! JSU is a pathetic team, being blown out by powerhouses (not) like UAB, Kennesaw Sate and Sam Houston!!
FSU has been blown out by Wake Forest. Loses to Louisville at home.
FSU's signature win - UMass?
Like so many have said, I would not be feeling this way if Dabo hadn't hyped how great this team was going to be. How great our receivers were going to be. How great DJ was going to be. How much the OLine had improved since last year.
Injuries included, 4 years of top 10 recruiting classes should say we just reload, not rebuild.
It is clear now, unfortunately, that Saban is the GOAT. He not only looses more talent every year by a mile than we do, he looses the majority of his coaching staff. He is the only constant.
It is easy to coach generational talent, like it is easy to be a good manager when you have great people, but the true mark of a coach or a manager is how you perform when you don't have that, but again, based on the recruiting we have had, we SHOULD still have great talent.
Let's hope next year we get back to the top of the mountain, because this year we still have more ways (losses) to fall.

Love Dabo but he has to evaluate the coaches with an unbiased opinion.
Tony Elliot is 60% of the problem for the offense. The play calling was terrible in many cases. Why are we still running WE screens. Tony, Grisham, and Caldwell should be gone after this year. But we all know no changes will be made.

No win against the coots will ever be near my top 5. Same for Duke ,Wake, etc. Losses in the top five disappointments maybe but wins never. They suck so bad historically they don't qualify but to each his own I guess.

nope. not unless I knew that everything was a total guess on offense at the start of a season? IF so, that tells us a lot about the recruiting and coaching on the offensive side to things. aka, surprise, we won this one...

I read it, didn't hear it. No matter, I get what he is saying . Maybe a bit of puffers, but considering the downward trajectory this year the idea that perhaps we've begun to turn it around (if one believes such) makes this pretty notable.

I don't understand why suddenly Clemson fans can't understand or relate to Dabo because we're having a rough season. First, if we were 5-3 with a win over FSU, TDP would have been readying a contract extension for Tommy. Second, he didn't say this was a Top 5 win in Clemson's history. He was talking about for himself. In the midst of the shitstorm Clemson just rattled off it's 6th win in a row over FSU. I have no problem believing that, down late in the 4th with a beleaguered qb who had played poorly most of the second half, managing to pull together the win with a fantastic late game drive and a stifling defensive performance on FSU's last possession would rank this high on Dabo's list emotionally.

Is how he feels in the moment somehow not valid? If I go to a concert and think "holy fing sh*t, that was amazing. Probably one of the top 5 concerts I've ever seen" is that invalidated if someone else like "yo bro, you've seen way better bands than that - stop exagerating." ###. It's not having fun. It is a ceaseless effort to disparage and undermine our coach and his program. Being conducted by supposedly Clemson's biggest fans.

I don't think you're being malicious about it but certainly other people are so I'm just a little fired up that people can't enjoy this more. I know FSU is way down. But I started college in 1992 and was treated to 11 straight losses. I will treasure every win over them. Frankly, I care way more about beating FSU than USC. And I hate Mike Norvell after last year. This was a good win over an FSU team that was trying to convince itself it had turned a corner. This loss will be a major kick in the balls for their team.

Hell yeah. Could you ever imagine having a bad season back then AND beating FSU? Agreed, every win over them is to be savored.
And this game was like those old FSU games in that we'd scratch and claw our way down the field, miss a FG, and the Noles would have some amazing play like their non-tackle TD today. Except those games, Clemson would fold and lose 57-0.
This team took a gutshot, fought, took another gutshot late, and still won.
If you can't be happy about beating FSU I can't help you.

I traveled to Tallahassee in 2000 fully convinced we were going to finally win that one. Weinke’s end zone to end zone touchdown is second only to Tate George’s last second shot as the most devastating moment in Clemson sports for me. So I get why a seemingly random game might be more important to some than others.

The line was 6 or something. I knew we had no chance. That was the biggest lock of my gambling life. We lost something like 48-7. I bet 2k on FSU. That was my only time I have bet against Clemson football. I don't gamble anymore, but that was free money.

First who cares what those outside the program think? Mostly they don’t like him cause he beats their behinds and won’t be politically correct about his faith and subjects like Covid season last year.

I would take a gander he's using this as motivation and encouragement to a young team's confidence. Jmho because he's said it so many times after a big game.
His first win, 2 nattys, LSU game, coots streak, OSU beatdown, hurricane ND game, OSU close semi-final game.
I know a lot of posters say enjoy the w, and it is. No discounting that... But let's add some perspective. We've squeaked by and defense had to win the last series on every win this year over bad teams.

I understand why a coach would feel that way, especially an emotional coach like Dabo, in the heat of the moment. I give the team credit for this: They showed tremendous heart and fight tonight. They never quit, and it paid off. That's what Dabo is talking about; he's right and I give him credit for that take. As a fan, my perspective is a little different, as I don't have to lead the team, and I'm not emotionally attached to any of the players. I can be more detached and more blunt. While it definitely felt good to pull that one out, and the players should all celebrate and revel in that victory, I realize that we played horribly for much of the game, made far too many stupid mistakes, and continue to battle some of the same problems we have battled all year.
Great win guys - I'm gonna celebrate it! But I know that we are still not playing to the standard we've come to expect under Dabo, and it's obvious we don't have the answers yet. I'll continue to wear my orange, cheer for my Tigers, and rag the shat out of my coot buddies, all while knowing that we are just not as good as we have been for the past 10 years or so.

This can’t be argued. It’s 100% an opinion and no one else besides you has your perspective of your opinion. The same goes for dabo. Dabo knows this team is hurting and needs to believe in their self. And he knew this game could make or break em.. and they got down with bout 7 minutes to go and reached down and pulled out the victory. Not many of dabos teams has NEEDED a regular season victory more than this one, tonight. Those players are like his kids competing. This wasn’t about being one of the biggest wins, but rather a personal opinion of dabo being proud of his team stepping up, when it could have folded, and fighting for a win. I completely understand how dabo sees it this way. He even included his time at bama. This game is special to him for reasons that most fans can’t see.

We beat them by 1 point more than Jax State, at home. They did more to lose this game than we did to win it. I'm not buying what he's selling.

Our 5 wins this year are the worse wins this past decade. Lucky vs. bad teams.

Alabama 2016 (season) - more than the NCAA title, it was the first win over Alabama in a century. Georgia 2013 (or so) - Georgia kept sending it and Clemson responded every time. Ohio State 2019 - the Buckeyes kept sending it and Clemson responded every time.
Those three stand out for me. Of course there are plenty of others. Your list is as good as mine …

In his top 5 toughest coaching wins or top 5 most satisfying wins.
Probably not the top 5 most impressive win or “resume builder”

Hmm...this is a pretty tough list to make for my personal top 5 victories.
1) 2016 National Title. First time in my lifetime I had the chance to witness us win the title. (Wasn't born for '81). First time everyone in the entire house was screaming and was shedding tears. I will never forget it. Probably one of the few games I can replay the entire thing in my head. Showcased everything Dabo was building and that final push to reach the top of the mountain. Astonishing leadership on both sides of the ball. Truly unforgettable.
2) LSU Chic-fila-a bowl. That game was nothing but pure excitement and the intensity and the will to go win by Clemson was astonishing. 4th and 16. Was just absolutely unbelievable to watch that final drive and see that kick sail into the uprights at the last second.
3) 2019 National Title. I personally put this one here just because of what we did to that Alabama team and the fact we were the first 15-0 team in CFB. All with a true freshman at QB. Plus it was full of a lot of my personal favorite players last game in a Tiger uniform. They got to be on top one last time.
4) Clemson/Oklahoma Orange Bowl 2015. Family and I went to the game as a big Christmas gift and also went to Universal Orlando the next day. Was just all around a great trip. Weather was perfect considering it was "Winter". (My last trip prior to Florida for a Clemson game was Tampa ACC Championship 2009. Awful weather, very cold and we lost). Plus, that game gave us our first berth to a National Championship since 1981. Incredibly exciting.
5a) Clemson/Notre Dame's infamous monsoon game. Electric atmosphere. Got to witness tents fly into the stratosphere at the tailgate. Very muddy, very wet but still extremely exciting regardless. Pretty sure the entire family got sick afterwards but we agreed it was worth a little common cold.
5b) Clemson/Coot game 2014. The only reason I put this one here is because of the absolute misery I (and I'm sure many of us) had to endure through those 5 years. Not too many Clemson fans (at least not many that actually cared about watching the games) where I went to high school. My high school coaches were even giving me grief through those years. Well, that game I invited a few of my coot buddies to my house and I was absolutely hammered by the end of the game. We agreed to a drinking game the night prior (wish I could remember what it was) but they were good sports about the outcome. It was a good time with some friends and the Tigers broke the streak and Dabo showed me that the best was yet to come. Couldn't have asked for more that year.
Honorable mentions:
-Clemson/UGA 2013. Very muggy day. Great tailgating. Very exciting game. Few Georgia fans I saw and met weren't too bad (except that one dbag that booed us every time we had an injury).
-Clemson/VT 2011 ACC Championship. Chilly night. VT fans were pretty cool people from my experience. First ACC Championship win in what felt like an eternity. First signs Clemson was definitely on the rise.
-Clemson/Bucknuts 2016 Fiesta Bowl. Just a comical beatdown. Loved every second of it. Wish we scored more. Put more notoriety on the program to show we were absolutely elite.
-Clemson/Bucknuts 2019 Fiesta Bowl. This game just had me more nervous and on edge than anything. Incredible game with astounding effort by Etienne and Trevor. Clutch defense per usual. Just an all around classic by the Tigers. Definitely needed a drink and a 12 hour nap after that one.
-Clemson/Bucknuts 2013 Orange Bowl. Big win. First BCS Bowl win. First Orange Bowl win in decades. Sammy Watkins and Tajh Boyd's last game as Clemson legends and they didn't disappoint.
-Clemson/Kentucky & Virginia 2009. Huge wins for Dabo when many were wanting his head or doubting him in those days. Gave him some room for error to be able to stay around and stick through that 2010 season. Virginia win gave us the ACC Championship berth which gave Dabo an important resume builder. Plus it was CJ's last home game (I remember those chants of his name echoing in the stadium still to this day) and his last game as a Clemson Tiger against Kentucky. Very crucial moments for the program in its infancy stages of being built with those wins.
- Clemson/Auburn & FSU 2011. Much needed revenge for that 2010 game in which we should have beat Auburn. That game alone built that season and gave Clemson national recognition that the program desperately needed. I still remember when Coty Sensabuagh picked off that pass in the 4th qtr. That stadium ERUPTED. FSU, same deal. Much needed win over a highly ranked teams that continued to bring confidence in this program and those two wins brought something Dabo could create and build around.
I could keep listing games from the Dabo Era for hours at this rate.

Imagine losing two in a row after losing 3 in one season

It was top 5 for Dabo because his will to succeed & set a standard plus the heat is on the people he loves most about winning!
It was a sweet victory to him because we needed it so bad. Nobody can tell another person, player or coach their top victories because we don’t walk in their shoes.
It was big for saving this season & getting our boys back on track, this season will provide great wisdom these kids couldn’t get from winning... remember God always has a plan!
For as bad as we are on offense we will be better next year because of the experience everyone has had. It created an urgency to win & win big.... we will be better than ever, & more dominate than ever in my Opinion!

Dabo’s best wins:

Which one doesn’t belong?
