Backpackers are still beating a path to the Tiger Den guesthouse. A short dusty walk inside the Sariska Tiger Reserve, the Den can afford to overcharge a little, despite the modest accommodation, because there's no competition for the daily traffic of budget travellers.



incredibly stupid people who believe in "ancient Chinese medicines" are behind much of the rapid extinction of tigers, elephants, rhinos, et al. I read another article that said the last wild tiger will probably die in about 20 years. As human population explodes--largely in Asia--the pollution, corruption, habitat destruction, and utter stupidity surrounding ancient medicines will soon relegate tigers and other species to a microscopic breeding stock in wildlife sanctuaries.

I read in an article yesterday that their were 300 new additions in the scarmata (sp)
Countries that allow these kills should be punished and any person bringing one into the home country should have the animal/skin seized and find in the millions . Their ability to fly or by ground to ant country that allows big game hunting should be permanently banned from hunting for a minimum of 10 years
