A few tidbits from the 1988 team

I was a rabid 13 year old Clemson fan then and I certainly remember a lot but here's a couple things I didn't know or forgot until I looked up the archives from that season:

I did not know Rodney Williams played at Irmo HS..that makes the memories even sweeter now that scar didn't get him in their backyard.

I didnt know gene chizik was a GA

I didn't know Tommy west was the defensive line coach

Also, why did nc state have our number for a couple years there? The puntrooski and the 10-3 loss the them cost us another NC.

Still beat ou ### in the citrus that year.....1990 if ford had not left would have been the season.....one of the best defenses of all time that year.

Agree completely. I'll never be convinced we wouldn't have won the 1990 and 1991 national championships without the "Danny firing debacle". No way he loses in Charlottesville or Atlanta in 1990, and he doesn't let our players run their mouths and lose in Athens in 1991. Lost opportunities, but here's to 2013 setting the football universe straight...

The Citrus with the great plays by Dexter Davis breaking up the last OU drive, knocking down the potential winning TD in the end zone with Bosworth on the sidelines and Switzer shaking his head. Great memory.
