I want an impactful WR from the portal as much as a lot of you do. However, we have 10 guys in that room. Unless someone else transfers out, I can't see us bringing in someone from the portal. The numbers don't really make sense.
Since that is the case... Adam Randall is the X-factor (again)... He has the physical attributes to be a legit #1 vertical threat at WR. If he can play up to his potential, we have a shot at being a great passing offense again.
Unless Wesco and Moore just come in ready to go. That would be cool too.

It's been sad to watch. He has a great combination of size and speed. I really thought he would have been better thus far.

Say another one or two of those guys goes portal and two or three others get hurt (as they have been prone to do), we’re once again up a creek come late season. We need depth.

Is Antonio not going to play in the bowl game? I wouldn't mind if he redshirted. To be honest, I can't see him being a 5th year guy anyways.

Collins just opened up a scholarship... I don't know why you wouldn't look to use it on a portal WR
|

Because we still have 10 WRs on the roster. We can use the portal for other positions where the numbers make more sense (QB as an example).

As you explained, the # of WR's Clemson carries is 10. They prepared for 2 leaving by bringing in 2. UNTIL another one hits the Portal, there's no open WR Scholarship.
Heck I remember a few years ago people complaining bout Dabo carrying as many as 10 WR's LOL

Right. It's not the same as OL. We are losing Putnam and Mayes, but we only have one commit. That's why offering the OT made sense.
The numbers don't work at WR though. This seems difficult for people to grasp.

If we had to choose between getting someone thru the portal, I would agree that we NEED an OL worse.
But we don't have to choose. We have enough spots to do both. And I argue that WR is the position at which a transfer can have the greatest impact on a team.

There would've been a spot for Collins had he stayed and there's a huge need for immediate help at WR. Kelly can also be moved to CB.

I’m guessing we lose two more off that list. Definitely will need the portal to atleast rebuild the second team depth. We can’t survive upgrading the scholarship players off the walkon team. Hamp Green has been helpful on ST but that’s not what we need for the two deep WR room. The entire offense suffers and that’s a rapid death for future recruiting of all the skilled positions especially QB.
