7-0 vs 4-3..........time for perspective.......LONG

Dabo preaches that BEST is the standard and, while I whole heartedly agree with that philosophy, it can cause us FANS some grief when it seems that we aren't playing to that. BUT, if we step back and look at where we were this time last year - 4-3, unranked, trying to piece together an OL, an injured and inexperienced WR group and a QB who was lost - and compare that to this morning, I can say that I'm more than happy and the BEST is yet to come. That being said, Dabo needs and will continue to push these young men to be the BEST but, as fans, don't lose perspective on where we were and how far we have come in a year.
As far as last night, it appeared to me that we had quite a few defensive players who weren't in game shape in the 4th quarter and there was a lack of cohesion. That probably has to do with quite a few playing in their first meaningful action in weeks.
Offensively, I can't say enough about DJ, he has come so far and he is such a good kid who has obviously put in the work and it's showing. Shipley is the heart and soul of the offense and Ngata is starting to be what we all thought he could be. Think back to last year, this Offense has come miles.
Special teams - incredible performance on all ends. Our kicker is $$$ and that's huge.
In summary, given what we had last year, I am very pleased and very encouraged. We are still evolving, especially on Defense. The BEST is YET to COME - mark it down!
