One of the fastest rising prospects in South Carolina right now is Markish Jones. Jones is a standout athlete at Broome High School in Spartanburg.

Recently, North Carolina, East Carolina, Marshall, and Middle Tennessee State offered. Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, and others are likely to soon follow.

"I have been hearing a lot from Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, and North Carolina. Those are the schools recruiting me the hardest, and probably add East Carolina to that list."

Does Jones have an early favorite?

"The schools that I mentioned would be my shortlist. I am going to hit some camps this summer and see what happens."

Is a trip to Clemson in Jones' plan?

"Coach (David) Blackwell wants me to come back for their camp. The coaches could not be out there to evaluate during the Nike camp, so they want me to come back and show them what I can do. It is likely that I will camp at Clemson."

The Tigers and Seminoles are expected to offer and become the teams to beat for Jones.
