The scholarship numbers for tight ends are increasing. The Tigers could sign three tight ends in this class, which would give them six tight ends on scholarship. Clemson hosted one of their top tight end prospects on Wednesday, Bruce Figgins.
Figgins came away very impressed with the Tigers. "It was a very good trip. My family and I were very impressed. There was so much I did not get to see the last time I came." A real stronghold for Clemson in recruiting has been Vickery Hall. The Figgins camp came away very impressed with the academic support center. "My mom really liked Vickery Hall. She wants me to go where they are going to take care of my academics. They are very serious about helping players get their degrees at Clemson. I understand why their graduation rate is near the top." Figgins also had a chance to tour Death Valley. "The stadium is huge. It has to be one of the loudest stadiums in the country. The part they just built is very impressive." Figgins was able to speak with current Clemson tight end Durrell Barry. "Durrell was explaining how they are going to use the tight end. He was telling it has changed a lot since he signed with Clemson. He says Coach Spence really believes in using the tight end a lot. It was good to talk with him." After leaving Clemson, Figgins declined to name a favorite. His top three remains Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia. Figgins will visit Georgia and make a decision soon after.
