When we released our top 20 players in South Carolina, Jamie Robinson landed at the #1 spot. We had felt all year that CJ Byrd was the top player in South Carolina, but Robinson just showed another level of play at the Shrine Bowl.

Clemson, Florida State, and Virginia Tech have been Robinson's top three since very early. This weekend Robinson will make his first official visit to FSU.

"I am excited it will be my first official visit. I went down to FSU for their game against Virginia. I didn't get to meet any of the players, while I was down there. I want to get a better feel for the campus and the players while I am down there."

A big concern for Clemson and Virginia Tech was that Robinson would commit to FSU and not take his last two visits. Robinson maintains that is not a possibility.

"I told Coach Blackwell today that I will take all three visits before I make my decision. I don't want to leave any room for doubt. I feel this will be the best way for me to handle it."

Robinson will play basketball for Northwestern this year, but had his wisdom teeth removed over the holidays and has not been cleared by the doctors to play.

We will have an interview with Robinson on the Sunday Night Recruiting special. You can listen at WCCP 104.9 FM or at WCCPFM.com
