Ron West has been recruiting JoJo Cox for over a year. West had his eye on Cox, while he was pulling Antonio Clay away from Oklahoma. Now, Cox is the top prize in Jefferson, and the Tigers appear to be in good shape.
"Clemson and Auburn are my top two right now. Maryland and Penn State have offered me as well, but I really like Clemson and Auburn right now. Antonio is getting ready to leave for Clemson, and he is telling me I should follow him up there. He is not really putting any pressure on me. Antonio understands better than anybody how stressful recruiting can get without any added pressure." Cox is listed at 5-9, 221 pounds, and he says some have question his height, but he is not concerned. "It does not bother me. Reggie Merriweather got it done last year for Clemson, and I think I am a lot like him. It comes down to who wants it more." This summer Cox says he will visit Alabama later in June, but he is preparing for his senior season. "I really want to go out in a big way. I wish we starting practice tomorrow. It has been too long since I have been on the field. I am ready to step up and being a leader. I learned a lot from Antonio last year. Many times you can lead without saying a single word." Cox is a candidate to make a decision over the summer, especially considering the tumultous recruitment his teammate went through last fall.
