Before Clemson: All-state and all-region as a senior ... Herald Journal Player-of-the-Year as a senior ... No. 11 player and No. 2 righthander in South Carolina by Diamond Prospects ... No. 27 player and No. 7 righthander in South Carolina by Perfect Game ... lettered four times in baseball at James F. Byrnes High School, where he was coached by Michael Maus.
