is in the process of hiring Clemson's next baseball coach. Here's a list of some of the potential candidates:

The Former Assistants

Tim Corbin was an assistant coach at Clemson for nine seasons under Jack LeggettJack Leggett

. He has also been the head coach at Presbyterian College for six seasons. Corbin left Clemson to be the head coach at Vanderbilt where he has been since 2003. This is his third trip to Omaha as a Commodore. He won the national title last season.

Kevin O'Sullivan was an assistant at Florida Community College, Florida Atlantic and Virginia before coming to Clemson in 1999. He spent eight years at Clemson before becoming the head coach at Florida. He is taking the Gators to the College World Series for the fourth time. His Gators were the national runner up in 2011.

Jim Schlossnagle is currently the head coach at TCU. He was an assistant for one season at Clemson under Bill Wilhelm. He was the 2010 National Coach of the Year. He played at Elon and coached there as an assistant before coming to Clemson in 1993. He left Clemson for Tulane where he spent eight seasons. His first head coaching position was at UNLV where he coached two seasons. Schlossnagle has been the head coach at TCU since 2004. This weekend will be his third trip to the College World Series at TCU.

is a former middle infielder with the Tigers as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. He has also been an assistant at Anderson University, Western Carolina and Tennessee. Radokovich thought so highly of LeCroy he named him interim coach while the search continues. He is the only candidate that has a confirmed interview for the position.

Randy Mazey played at Clemson from 1985-1988. He was an assistant a Clemson for four seasons after his playing days were over. Mazey has also been an assistant at Georgia, East Carolina, Tennessee and TCU. He has been the head coach at Charleston Southern and East Carolina for three seasons each. He just finished his second year as the head coach a West Virginia.

Billy McMillon is a former Clemson outfielder who played Major League Baseball for four different teams over a nine year career. He has spent the last eight seasons coaching in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Matthew LeCroy is a former catcher at Clemson who played for the Twins and Nationals for eight years. He has been coaching in the Nationals' organization since 2008 and is the current bullpen coach for big league team.

Head Coaches

Monte Lee is the current head coach at the College of Charleston. He played for the Cougars and has been their head coach since 2009. Lee has been an assistant at Spartanburg Methodist and South Carolina.

Jim Toman is the current head coach at Liberty. After playing at NC State, he was an assistant at Florida International, NC State and South Carolina.

Dave Perno is the former head coach at Georgia. We know Pernod has interest in the Clemson job. From 2002-2013 Pernod led Georgia to three College World Series appearances and was the national runner up in 2008.

Wildcards

My experience tells me that while the above candidates have been linked to the job by one source or another, there is usually a candidate or two that no one expects. There are coaches who have interest in this job but don't want to be linked publicly. Maybe they have issues with their support or maybe they feel it's time to move on, but I would think there would be a few head coaches in high profile positions that have expressed interest in the opening.

Summary

This coaching search has been difficult to follow. Radakovich has a bunch of contacts throughout the South but so far it has been a quiet search. Most feel Corbin is untouchable at Vandy. I hear O'Sullivan would have more interest than Corbin. I haven't talked to anyone with knowledge of Schossnagle's interest. Obviously Bradley LeCroy and Randy Mazey have high interest in the job. I know that Clemson has had some contact earlier in the year with Matthew LeCroy but I don't know if that was judging his interest in the position. Clemson could have its pick from Lee, Toman and Perno. But I also know that other unknown candidates will throw their names into the ring. With some of the candidates still coaching, I would not think this search will conclude until sometime next week at the earliest.
