Mickey,

Read your blog about "Auburn." While we are wishing for future opponents, let's approach Maryland. I am really not interested in playing them, but I just could not wait to see how they try to get out of agreeing to play an out of conference opponent from the ACC. After all, didn't they bad mouth ACC football going out the door?

As for other opponents, I like the idea of Tennessee. A trip to Knoxville is not a long ride. Of course, I really wish we would make Georgia a regular season opponent again.

Kindest Regards,

Kirk

Kirk,

It would suit me if I never saw Maryland ever again. I made sure I brought everything back with me the last time I went there this year so I wouldn't have any reason to go back. I would rather some other ACC program do the payback thing. I have no desire to every see Maryland.

I think Tennessee would be a great rivalry. I also like the idea of playing Florida and LSU. But I agree with you, let's just sign Georgia up as an opponent every year and play one of the best rivalries in the South every year.

Hey Mickey,

Thought you might have some insight on this:

Read that D-Rad announced that, after the 2015 matchup, we won't be going to Notre Dame until 2020 and then we don't play them again until 2025.  It was my understanding, though, that every ACC team would play 4 games with ND through the remainder of the 60-game/12-year contract, with 4 teams playing ND 5 times.  However, only 3 games are scheduled between Notre Dame and Clemson.  Any idea as to why? Are we getting the short end of the stick, as usual?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

I haven't seen the schedule that far in advance. Are you sure they don't play in the final year of the contract? I can't believe that Clemson would get the short end of that stick. Florida State gets Notre Dame this year and Clemson is the major game in year two. I would think Notre Dame and the ACC would love Clemson versus Notre Dame.

Mickey,

You mentioned 5 other student-athletes in your blog today about Ray-Ray McCloud III. With 20 already committed to sign in thus class, will we have any problems if all five say they want to become Tigers in 2015?

Kirk

Kirk,

All five will not commit to Clemson. I think Huggins and Bailey are the number one prospects on each side of the ball at this point. Also it is important to know that scholarships usually open up as the year progresses. There is always attrition in every program but all five will not chose Clemson.
