Overview: Long, athletic forward that signed in the 2008 spring period with the Tigers... has outstanding leaping ability and has been able to help Clemson in his first three seasons as an energetic player off the bench...possesses a 7'0" wingspan, an attribute that serves him well on the defensive end of the floor...has played in 71 career games, with six starts...after appearing in 37 games his first two years with the program, played in all 34 contests in 2010-11...scored more points as a junior than he did in his first two seasons combined...totaled career highs in minutes, field goals, three-pointers, free throws made, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals as a junior...earned the team's Mr. Effort Award at the season-ending banquet in 2009, and then earned the team's Air Force ROTC Award in 2010...an outstanding student, he was inducted into North Augusta High School's Hall of Fame his senior year...was a member of the Beta Club, French Club and Math Honor Society...father, Bernard Bowman, played basketball for South Carolina State from 1985-88.
In 2010-11: Played in all 34 games, with four starting assignments...averaged 12.6 minutes per game, playing a total of 428 minutes after just 188 in two years coming into the season...averaged 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, but his averages were even higher (3.5 and 1.9) during the ACC regular season...shot 50 percent from the field, one of the top marks on the team...made nine three-point baskets as a junior, he had made only two (both in the same game) in his career prior to the season...tied for second on the team with 15 blocked shots, he had 11 during the regular season of the ACC...had career-best 18 steals and was a major reason the Tigers led the conference in scoring defense...started four consecutive games for the Tigers between Jan. 22 at Maryland and Feb. 2 at Virginia...Clemson played without regular starter Tanner Smith for two of those games...Smith was injured at North Carolina on Jan. 18.
Best Games of 2010-11: Best performance was in the come-from-behind win over NC State on Jan. 25...made 4-of-8 field goals, including two highlight-reel dunks to ignite Clemson's comeback from a 19-point deficit...played career-high 33 minutes in that victory...matched career-high in scoring with 10 points apiece versus Delaware State on Dec. 27 and at North Carolina on Jan. 18...made 4-of-6 shots in Chapel Hill, including 2-of-4 from three-point range...posted seven points in 18 minutes in the home game against the Tar Heels, hitting another pair of three-point goals...produced five points in eight minutes in Paradise Jam contest with Long Beach State...scored four in win over Wofford...scored four points in nine minutes in road game against South Carolina...had a pair of dunks for a total of four points against Savannah State...had four points, three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in an active 16 minutes versus UNC Greensboro...scored seven against Georgia Tech off the bench in the home win over the Yellow Jackets, he made all three of his field goal attempts with three blocked shots as well...totaled four points on a pair of offensive tip-ins at Duke...had two steals in eight minutes against Wake Forest...scored off an exciting alleyoop dunk from Demontez Stitt in the Senior Day win over Virginia Tech.
In 2009-10: Played in 21 of the 32 games...averaged 5.8 minutes per game and made two starts, both in the 76 Classic...made 17 of 30 shots on the season for 57 percent field goal accuracy...averaged 1.9 points per game and added five blocks and three steals on the season...posted pair of double figure scoring efforts, all within the first six games of the season...best game of the season was arguably against Long Beach State, when he hit all five of his field goal attempts in a starting assignment and totaled 10 points in 24 minutes...added four rebounds, a block and a steal against the 49ers...also scored 10 points in season opener against Presbyterian College...hit 4-of-7 shots against the Blue Hose, including 2-for-3 from three-point range...those were the only made three-point goals of his career...came off the bench to spark a comeback in first round of the 76 Classic versus Texas A&M...scored seven and added three rebounds against the Aggies...made ESPN's Top 10 Plays on SportsCenter the next morning with a steal and high-flying dunk in the second half of that game...posted three points and three rebounds in nine minutes off the bench against Illinois...scored baskets against Liberty, Butler, Furman and Virginia Tech...hit pair of free throws in six minutes of Clemson's rout over the College of Charleston.
In 2008-09: Appeared in 16 games with an average playing time of 4.2 minutes per contest...averaged 1.5 points per game...made 8-15 shots for the season, 53 percent...connected on 8-12 free throws, 67 percent...averaged 0.8 rebounds per game and contributed defensively with a pair of steals and a blocked shot...committed just three turnovers in 67 minutes on the season, his average of one every 22 minutes ranked as the best on the team...played in five consecutive games in January and in the final four games of the season for the Tigers...top game was early in the year against Wofford, where he posted a season-best eight points in 11 minutes...made 2-3 field goals and 4-4 from the charity stripe against the Terriers...made 2-3 baskets and totaled four points in season opener versus Hofstra...posted three points and two assists against SC State...hit 1-2 shots and totaled three points and three rebounds at North Carolina...scored two points and had a fastbreak assist in ACC Tournament game against Georgia Tech...posted two points on a putback following a missed free throw in the NCAA Tournament contest with Michigan.
