Overview: Signed with the Tiger program in the fall of 2010, along with guard T.J. Sapp…one of five first-year freshmen to see significant playing time in 2011-12…one of five post players on the roster for 2012-13, he will have an opportunity to see more minutes at the power forward spot…suffers from asthma, a condition that affected his rookie season at Clemson…was unable to complete practices for most of the first two months…was given breathing treatments to help cope with the asthma, and it was controlled better from January through the end of the 2011-12 season…earned the Tiger Strength Award at the conclusion of the season due to consistent dedication in workouts and improved nutritional habits…most decorated signee in Brad Brownell’s first class, he was rated a four-star prospect across the board…majoring in psychology…recruited by former Associate Head Coach Rick Ray.
In 2011-12: Played the fewest minutes of Clemson’s five first-year freshmen, but played behind a pair of veteran post players in Devin Booker and Milton Jennings…logged 210 minutes, an average of 7.5 per game, in 28 appearances…averaged 1.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, numbers that should increase by a wide margin in his sophomore season…struggled to finish plays during the first part of the season, he shot just 37 percent overall…did improve as the year progressed, as he made 9-18 shots in ACC regular season games…played double figure minutes in eight contests…best game may have come at Virginia Tech, where he provided seven points and made 3-4 field goals in nine minutes as the Tigers attempted to rally from a big deficit…added four rebounds in that game, one of which sparked a three-point play off the offensive glass…posted two points and three rebounds in 11 minutes at The Citadel…played 16 minutes at Arizona and had two points and two boards…scored four points on 2-5 shooting in 11 minutes against Alabama State…grabbed three rebounds in 12 minutes in overtime win over Southern Illinois…played season-high 20 minutes against Hawaii when Jennings was suspended…posted two points, two rebounds and a blocked shot in that game…scored four points in eight minutes in ACC opener win over Florida State, including a late dunk…played at 15 minutes at Wake Forest and had four rebounds…scored on a three-point play at Georgia Tech…made two baskets in 12 minutes at home against the Yellow Jackets, both after claiming offensive rebounds.
