What offensive player on the current roster would have started on the 2018 team? I can't even think of one. And not many on defense either. How do we ever get back (or can we even get back) to the talent levels on those 2015-2020 teams?

Briningstool, yes.
Tremayne Anchrum is going into his 5th season in the NFL. 2nd Team All-ACC as a Junior, 1st team All-ACC as a senior. Blake Miller is going to be selling homes or insurance in two years if he doesn’t take a huge leap.
Also, Mafah might backup Etienne but he’s not getting more than a couple carries here and there with Etienne on the roster.

Miller would’ve played somewhere along the line for sure. Doesn’t matter that Anchrum started at tackle. You’re right about Etienne.

....has a lot more to do with it. Clemson's lack of offensive production is mostly due to a lack of player development. Clemson has had plenty of talent, but it hasn't been developed for a myrid of reasons. When its not developed people who don't really know what they're looking at think its due to a lack of talent. Look at Clemson's recruit rankings for thr last 3 seasons worth of starters. You'll notice just how talented Clemson was.
Switch 2018's coaching staff out with 2024's staff and what you'd get is a defense that is comparable, a QB position that isn't nearly as good, and WR's not nearly as consistent or dynamic.
QB, OL, and WR's are the reason Clemson hasn't made the playoffs the last 3 seasons.
That's it. 3 positions.

I watched a youtube video of Trevor Lawrence Clemson career highlights. OMGoodness! Not sure we will ever see his like again........but we can hope!
