Rewatched the spring game... separation between Klubnick and Pearman

You can tell Cade is the more senior guy, but his decision making and timing is still late and his vision and awareness remains subpar; having multiple balls batted and one pick six at the line(hello pump fake??). Pearman showed great timing and got the ball out quick but almost every completion was read one. Because of his quick release and perfect timing he never had to go through progressions.
Cade is our guy to beat UGA, and more. He is better than when he was a freshman and won the ACCCG, and he is better than when he beat Kentucky in the bowl game. But he will never be a Deshaun Watson and be able to analyze the plays in the moment and make the perfect read in this offense every time. So this read option stuff has got to be toned down to his abilities.
Go watch "My All American" on Netflix. The highly rated QB can't figure out the timing of the option offense and the unrated third stringer just fits the scheme better. It's the same deal. Pearman is a great fit for the "Clemson" offense. Klubnick can run it, but it's not easy for him and never will be. We may need to start recruiting qb differently if the offense is to remain the same. DJ struggled the same, mainly with decision making just as Cade does. It's year three for Cade the light should be on and bright, but it still seems to flicker quite a bit.

The most important thing that I'll ask for you to do before you settle yourself to firm with that assessment, lets not forget that we've had a pisss poor OL for several years now, and the O L that Cade was playing behind was a make shift OL with a group of the So So O lineman mixed with just not very So So O lineman that with the best of them that hasn't been really good at any time. Best time to judge Cade will probably be after the 4th or 5th week of the season after Matt Luke has had time to coach some of the bad coaching they've had, out of them!!!!

The Tigers need Coach Luke to make his impact to find the best 8 before Week 1. I seriously would like to see an experienced center brought in from the portal if post spring attrition allows. It could be an average undersized guy because what we have now is a upper classman with motivation problems and attempts to convert guards. The starter has to be better at the fundamentals day 1 and able to make the line calls. Get the center situation figured out and the guards and tackles can finally fall into place without all this cross training that leads to guys that don’t excel at any position,

Not all batted down were CV as Cade had a couple but the P6 was definitely CV

With DW4s heroics it’s easy to forget how many interceptions he threw. DW imo was the greatest QB in CU history (with TL16 an extremely close 2nd) but he made plenty of bad reads too. He had a good OL and Steller WRs too, something CK and even DJU have not had. The great ones still make mistakes, they are just good enough to outplay those mistakes. I expect if we can get a functional OL that Cade will do the same.

Watson threw a few pick sixes. They did not cause much concern because he would turn around and bring the team straight down the field on the. Ext drive to get the points back. There were a lot of physical that made Dw and TL special but the moment and the circumstances were never to big for them.

I See the ball fire out of Klubnick's hands a lot faster with more zip and velocity, enough that say on a receiver screen, the ball gets there a split second sooner and results in 4 more yards on the play. I also could not help but notice that #14 did not get as much pressure put on him as Klubnick, I mean they could have taken #2's head off on the first play if he were not wearing a purple Jersey, and were collapsing the middle with regularity and forcing his throws.
I guess if he needs something to push him, it would be the fans naming Pearman the starter, even though he knows the deal, it will probably light a fire under him. It would help if you guys kept posting about how much better Pearman is, especially when Cade threw for nearly 3k yards with our worst Oline and receivers in over a decade in his first year as a starter.

Dabo main focus in this game was to get film on everyone.

You're right, the defense when after Cade as if they knew the play and snap count. I commented on that Sunday and added that Cade and Chris should be hearing Trent's footsteps behind them.
Building confidence in the younger players should motivate them to further development and show them that earning playing time is possible. Motivating the guys in the two deep to work hard to keep their starting positions is also of great value.
We pay Dabo $9+mil/yr and it's because he knows how to select recruits and keep them motivated.
Chris might be a great quarterback but just last year we were crying for Cade all year long and learned that he has some of the same issue which the starter had.

I completely agree. If I took anything from the spring game it's that Cade has improved drastically on the timing and accuracy of those short throws. Something DJU could never figure out...
We don't need him to be a DW or TL, just need him to make the routine throws and limit his panic moments from last season. With the best WR room we've had since 2019 and a new OL coach he has nowhere to go but up.

You're right, Cade has the tools but it's the mental side of the game...

...that he struggles with. He was a TO machine because of it last year, and sadly, I don't see much change judging from the Spring game. All we can hope for is that he is making good reads and decisions in practice.
He did, on the other hand, make some great throws when his first option was open. It's frustrating to watch him sometimes.

Go back to the hurry up offense on every play, Cade plays so much better when he don't have time to think.

DJ was much better with this as well. Never understood why we didn’t just rush things and let his instincts take over. Gave him way too much time to think about it and he’d get into his own head

After watching the spring game I noticed that Dabo never tells anyone on the OL to block someone.

Not being negative but you are spot on. It is essential for this offense to make quick decisions. Even if Pearman going with his first open read it worked and he moved them down the field without taking sacks and giving the defense time to react. Cade is definitely too slow on decision making which gives the defense too much time to react.
