They have some guys that will be limited or out this spring. Beaux Collins can do team drills but not any scrimmage or live work. Conn will be able to punt only. Sheridan Jones (ab surgery) will be limited and will be able to indy work as the spring progresses.

Ruke Orhorhoro and Payton Page will be out for the spring. Walker Parks won't play this spring (ankle). Marcus Tate (knee) will also be out this spring.

Swinney says he thinks it will be a blessing to have those guys out and force some other guys to get better. Adam Randall won't be released until after the spring game (knee) because he had some surgery to clean up the knee. Xavier Thomas can do indy work but no team work.

QB Paul Tyson (thumb injury) will hopefully be able to participate after spring break. John Williams (appendix) is coming back, Troy Stellato (still not fully recovered from ACL), and Jalyn Phillips is still recovering from offseason surgery.

Jeremiah Trotter's mom (Tammy) battled breast cancer and passed away last week. Swinney says she was a beautiful person inside and out. A tough time. Trotter is here and will be out at practice today. He will go home Friday (the funeral is Sat).

With new OC, they can have meetings and walk-thru and installation meetings. They have already installed a lot of the new offense. He said the biggest thing is getting the communication down (different verbiage). They have been collaborating the last month and honing in.

They only have five scholarship receivers available this spring. Will have more here this summer. This spring is about getting the base offense in.

I realize that every team has injuries, especially at the skill positions, but I’d be curious how our injury rate compares.

They've changed the scholly number from 9 to 8 at LB. He said getting Jamal Anderson and Dee Crayton in early will be good for depth

Swinney says he needs to see Mukuba get his body in a good spot, has to be more disciplined and focused. Has already added 8 or 9 pounds. Didn't play well last year.

On if the grind of college coaching forces coaches to bolt for the NFL, Swinney says it's not a surprise to see guys make that move. In the NFL, when football is over, it's over, guys don't have to deal with recruiting. He is not surprised. Also not worried.
