Cannarellas injury looks worse

than first thought. Taylor and Mathes are doing a good job staying close to Cam to make throws for him but Mathes’ error in right center field against the coots showed a weakness. During that play, the ball caromed off the fence into Cam’s hands and without thinking, he tried to make a throw back toward the infield. That injury looks worse than I thought. Fortunately, he can swing the bat without any discomfort.
Anyone have any knowledge of the extent of his injury?

No, I don't, and I'd be shocked if it was disclosed. It's got to be affecting his swing some. Fortunately we have some cupcakes coming up b4 league play. I'd rest him... I just hope it's not something like dw4 where surgery is the only option. We need him more in May and June than now.

...Saturday wondered what was going on with him basically tossing the ball 20 yards to a "cutoff" outfielder. Didn't know he was hurt. Hope he gets better soon. I wonder if Bakich will rest him this week including the UNC-G series?

Past this weekend we have cupcakes series. But I'd completely dh or sub out completely. Yes, he either jammed his shoulder or pulled his shoulder trying to steal 3rd. Get him well as i said above.
Mathes may have messed up one play but he made some beautiful catches in center field... unlike will Taylor. He's booted a couple.

Taylor and Mathes are very good outfielders and we have a couple more that can give us some good defense. We may have to use them until Cam gets that shoulder back to normal.
When will Jarrell be back for work behind the plate?

down being an instant millionaire in minor league baseball to come and try and play two sports at Clemson. And then, blew out a knee playing football right off the bat, which may ultimately cost him a shot at a baseball career, when his time in college is done. He certainly is struggling right now, it would be interesting to see what the MLB scouts think his current outlook is. No one can predict the future, of course, but, looking back, you have to wonder if he had it to do over again, if he makes a completely different decision.

OMG, JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD READ IT ALL TIGERNET NEVER DISSAPPOINTS. SO, BEING A FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK WILL BE COSTLY HUH. STRUGGLING, LOL. HE STARTED OFF THE YEAR SLOW FOR SURE BUT HAS HIT 4 HOME RUNS IN HIS LAST 5 OFFICIAL AB'S AT CLEMSON. I CAN ASSURE YOU HIS DECISION WOULD BE EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS WHEN HE DECIDED TO GO TO COLLEGE. PLEASE, NEVER QUIT TYPING. SUCH GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. LMFAO.

but there MUST be somebody out there, somewhere. Keep looking down your noses at everyone, you are in a Group of One.
BTW, Will Taylor's current batting average, AFTER those four home runs, which I WAS aware of, is now 0.188.

They are not going to say what it is, but probably requires surgery in the off season.

Why would you speculate on surgery when you have no idea?

Concerned he may have an injury that won’t allow him to throw for rest of year. On the flip side if he can DH the lineup is starting to take form and we will be fine

Hopefully surgery is not needed because if it is a tear in the shoulder or bicep, he will be out for 2-3 months at least.

Does putting Cam in DH role full time hamper the lineup? What would be the drawbacks? From his throwing attempts I am very surprised Bakich even considered putting him in the field. That decision is just about the only thing that makes me think it’s not a season long injury. Hopefully that’s the case. Losing Cam for year would be a huge hit for the batting order.

So here is how Cam being DH changes the lineup Mathes is now in CF which inserts Crighton in RF. This really affects Cooper Blauser and jarren purify’s opportunities at DH. However I like Crighton compared to those 2. Crighton will get going. With the emergence of Hinderleider at 1B and Nawrocki at 3B Cam’s injury doesn’t seem to hamper the lineup as much as one would think. The lineup is beginning to take shape C Obertop 1B Hinderleider 2B Wright SS Ciufo 3B Nawrocki LF Taylor CF Mathes RF Crighton DH Cam
Things get really interesting as when Jacob Jarrell gets back healthy and Obertop needs a day off. Do you give him the complete day off because Cam is at DH or do you move Obertop to 1B and give Hinderleider the day off? What do you do?

It could be anything and I hope it's not too serious. With all the medical resources Clemson offers the athletes, I would think they have determined he can't do any more damage or he would be shutdown.

labrum tear. Did it sliding in to a base in the first few games of the year. I'm assuming Dr's don't think he can make it much worse, and will require surgery anyway at seasons end.

Read a couple articles on labrum tear. Apparently meds and PT are typically first course of treatment before surgery is considered. I suppose trying to play baseball isn’t what a doctor would suggest during rehab, but they did attempt to have him play centerfield. I guess with anti-inflammatory meds he can keep pain reduced and continue swinging the bat.

No reason for him to play in the field the rest of the season, keep him at DH.

Someone needs to walk down the hall and consult with the basketball program and get the first hand scoop on Resting Players. They are professionals down there with a treasure trove of knowledge on the subject.
