Michael Penix Jr. is basically Deshaun Watson

The amount of similarity is almost eerie and weird.
This is based off college obviously
Penix has actually torn 2 ACLs. And we all know Deshaun’a ACL and his injury issues.
In college, these are probably the 2 most accurate deep ball QBs I’ve personally seen. Seriously, there is an actual feeling of excitement you get when you saw Deshaun begin to load up and throw a deep one. It’s the same with Penix.
Both still had a great running ability even with their injuries. I would give Deshaun the edge here, but when Penix was at Indiana, he was an elite runner before that ACL. I think Deshaun would’ve excelled even more there without his ACL tear.
They both were Heisman candidates, and both lost the trophy to a QB that: 1) Team had 3 losses (Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels) 2) Had better rushing seasons than Penix and Watson
And they both should’ve been the Heisman winners in my opinion.
Deshaun always plays and played with a chip on his shoulder. And getting that taken away from him by a multiple loss QB motivated him. It’s the same with Penix.
I see Washington winning it all. I don’t think there is a single team that can stop the passing attack.

Hopefully for his sake he can keep his hands off the “massage therapists”

I don't think DW's hands were the problem.

Nice one
But seriously it’s only based on field performance between the white lines.
Also, regarding Deshaun, even if he did not sexually harass anyone, the fact that he exchanged through so many masseuses is the weird part.

Penix is a good qb, but it has taken him 5 or 6 years to get his name into rarified air, Watson was lightning right out of the box, yes they both had ACL injuries but i wouldn't say Penix is near the explosive threat Watson was..........having said all that there is no reason Penix can't have a good NFL career if he works hard.

Penix was really good at Indiana as well. He was just playing for an after thought school. You put him on one of the top teams in the SEC and he wins the heisman in a landslide

I have no issue with Heisman going to a player on a 3 or more loss team

Players limitations are often masked by being on elite teams.

Both were/are extremely clutch. Penix has pinpoint accuracy - if I remember, Watson once had accuracy as well.
Pulling for Penix to stay healthy and make smart life decisions. And for DW4 to have another chapter.

Michael Penix will never be the legend that DW4 was and still is....greatest player to ever step on the field for Clemson and took the program to heights no one has seen for 35 years

I don't think Penix is as good a runner as Watson.

Penix has never been an "elite runner"

He can run, but very rarely does so. He averages only 2.7 rushing attempts per game, including sacks. Watson was much more of a dual threat.

Sacks don't count toward rushing totals in the collegiate game, but do in the pros.

Yes they do.
I don’t condone gambling
But if you placed a bet on Jalen Milroe to have 34 rushing yards against Michigan, which was his line, you could see that it got more and more negative all 5 times he was sacked in the first half.

The Washington offense seemed a lot like the Tajh Boyd days to me.

The little hop to the side on the read. All the motion pre-snap. Slinging it deep to receivers that catch. Seemed like a lot of Morris influence for sure.

Whether or not you see a thousand similarities or a hundred, they both share the ability to get it done. You have it or you don't. I don't see that in Drake Maye, even if he's going to be the first or second QB off the board. Jameis had it. Joe Burrow, by his senior year, displayed it. Connor Shaw, Stetson Bennett, and Philip Rivers are other guys that I remember with "it". Obviously DW4 and TL16 had it, and I'd say Tajh had it to a lesser degree--our defense usually lost the games for us unless we were playing a certain team in garnet/black.
Our current and previous QB room did not have it. Hoping Hebert has it.

Penix has been hurt

how many times? In the Pac-12, where no defense is played. No hits occur on qb. Washington state is known to have BIG MEN. The OL is NEVER in question in the northwest if you haven't noticed.
If he took a shot like DW4 did in the NCG against Reuben Foster, penix, not only wouldn't have got up. he would've been carted off field.
Theres a lotttt of difference between East and West development and attitude regarding football.
Michigan gonna kill Washington.

The Washington team is very similar to '16 Clemson team

wins a lot of close games to inferior teams, very clutch in the those games on both sides of the ball, too.
I think Washington wins it all mainly by being clutch late.

I didn’t read your long list but I’ve thought they are very similar cuz they both throw ropes.
The ball comes out quick and gets there quickly. Both can march you downfield in a hurry.
