My quick run through the internet.

1. Lanning, Kiffin and Dabo are three of the first four names mentioned on almost any list I read. For the record, I think Kiffin would crawl on his knees through glass all the way to Birmingham to take the job. I don't think Dabo would take it if offered, and I don't think it will be offered to him.
2. Most sites are saying Lanning is the favorite. They know more than I do, but I would put the betting favorite on Kiffin. I'm not sure Lanning will leave Oregon and Phil Knight money.
3. Nobody, I mean nobody, is mentioning my guess - Mark Stoops. Shows how much I know.
4. A couple of Bama boards are saying the replacement has already been decided and it will be announced in the next 48 hours. They are guessing it is Lanning.
5. No matter how this shakes out, Jimmy Sexton is about to get richer. By the time the dust settles 4 or 5 of his clients will get a nice pay raise, either at a new school or the one they are currently coaching at.
Most ridiculous name I saw. One site, I don't remember who it was, but it was a legitimate internet news page, said one possibility is Jimbo Fisher.

It will most certainly be offered to Dabo. Vegas has him as second best odds as successor.
Vegas doesn't mess around. Not saying dabo will take the gig, but you can not ignore the Vegas line. They are not in the business of giving money away.

I come in peace!! I think it will definitely be offered to him as well, as it should. He’s a top 3 coach in the country…now top 2. Do y’all think the ACC uncertainty will play into Dabo’s decision?

Sure, but I just don’t see Dabos philosophy meshing with Bamas culture. If he does go it will be a disaster…

There’s a lot that will play into his decision, but those are big shoes to fill…even for Dabo. Rebuilding will not be an option and he knows that

Kiffin is my betting favorite. He has the balls to do it.

From what I hear, they’d have to miss on a few guys to get to Lanning. If it were me, it would be:
1. Dabo 2. Dabo 3. DeBoer

I agree with your list.
Chadwell might be the dark horse for the Bama job. He wins wherever he goes.

he might as well go all the way to Tuscaloosa where the school is.
It’s ok, you went to FSU… we don’t expect you to know a lot of stuff.

Thank you. I will offer an explanation....

.... but the damage is done. My initial thought while typing that was to type Birmingham, but then I thought, "You idiot. Bama is in Tuscaloosa." I was sure I typed Tuscaloosa.
Now, I could make up some other lame excuses, but they would all be lies and nobody would believe them either.
Besides, I'm as old as Kiffin. So, get off my lawn!

Several National media folks on Finebaum show seem to think Lanning and Sark are top candidates. Kiffin also mentioned.

Sark would be nuts to leave Texas

He has them turned around, has the Manning kid as his backup QB, and deep pockets alumni and NIL.
He has a great chance to put the Longhorns back in the playoffs in the 12 team format without moving.

+1 Agreed Texas is a better job with more $$$ than Bama

If Sark wins the national championship at Texas, he will blow by Saban, Dabo and Kirby in terms of salary, perks and off-the-field income.
Tuscaloosa coul soon return to Mike Shula-era Tuscaloosa without Saban, although Kiffin could roll for a few years with Nick's recruitment arsenal.

All the national journalists on Twitter/X are indicating Lanning. Josh Pate said the next coach is already a done deal and we'll know the replacement very soon.

Lanning would be my bet. I don't see Dabo leaving to go to Alabama, especially not directly after Saban. IF Dabo were to go, I imagine it would be after the next guy.
I am surprised that I don't hear much about Deboer or Sarkisian.

So you think maybe Nick picked his successor on his way out?

No one wants to be The Guy after The Guy

However, since Jimbo did it, I put my hat into the arena. I'll take half of what Saban was making, but a 5 year min contract with a buyout of the remaining years. That's a bargain.
The only problem is that I have no clothes in my wardrobe that are close to that color. I don't wear anything maroon, garnet, red, burgundy, etc.
