Is there anyone who believes that Alabama doesn't already have their man?

That would have been a done deal before Saban resigned. All of this other stuff is just fluff.

The AD, Wealthy Boosters, legal folks, agents. Not sure how you speed up that boat.

Yep, they know no one is going to replace Saban so they are interviewing...

a lot of guys making Bama admin able to say 'We picked the best, it's not our fault.'
Nothing short of a NC and an undefeated season is going to satisfy them and there's no way NS' replacement is going to have that level of success before the fans lynch him.

I think if they did you would hear from the AD. Going down the list.

I'm sure they have been prepared for this and have been making phone calls since before the announcement. Hard to say if they already have a guy agreed to it. Though I would be surprised if they don't have a new coach by tomorrow night.

It may be that the candidates they were hoping for don't want to have to deal with all the scrutiny and high expectations that comes with that job. I haven't been following this closely, but if they had "their man" I cannot think of a reason why it would not have been announced by now.

I think Saban’s timing hurts them. Several may have been interested a few years ago, but Lanning, Sark, and Kirby all have pretty good gigs now.

Yep, all three have excellent chances at Nattys in far less intimidating situations.

No way they could have kept that secret. It's still Alabama we're talking about.

You're assuming the Bama administration knew Saban was going to retire now

I think it may be Sark. After that, it gets iffy and starts to look like they are seeking a fall guy to be gone in 2 years.

Could be DeBoer. He coached Fresno State in 2021.
