that is causing the refugee crisis at the border. It seems our war on drugs has backfired, we were better off letting the Columbians run the show,. Maybe we should reform our drug laws and invest more that into rehab than incarceration, which costs the tax payer about 43k per inmate. A 3 year prison stint costs the same amount as the best drug rehabilitation services money can buy.

Do you believe "status quo" is better than the Bipartisan Border Bill that was torpedoed by DADDY. I ask because you make numerous posts regarding the borderbut was awfully quiet about this issue.

This isn't the least bit complicated or all that difficult, and any politician who hasn't proposed or voted for that does not have this country's best interest at heart.
in an earler post. Your continued obsession with Trump is unhealthy, and I still suggest you get some help. This issue is such a political hot potato now, and simply fixing the problem, which is simple and easy, is not the objectives. I blame all polititicians of any and all parties who are participating in that.

Hire an illegal immigrant, you get 5 years in prison plus a $500,000 fine. Per hire.
And that’s just for starters. Maybe add in prohibited from operating a business in the US for 20 years. And yes, make the CEO/owner/etc of the business accountable for each and every hire by his or her business no matter who in the company did the hiring.
Until someone claiming to care about this issue introduces a bill with harsh penalties like that, they shouldn’t be taken seriously.

First of all, how are you going to enforce this?
Next, you're saying you want a contractor--hell, or even just someone looking for home improvement help--to go to prison, away from his family, for 15 years and $1.5 million if he hires three day workers at the gas station?
A little draconian, no?
What if my legal immigrant employee suddenly lets her visa expire and I don't know about it? Is that also prison time?

Asking how it would be enforced is just like asking how any other law would be enforced, including the existing laws which address those who hire undocumented immigrants. All I suggested was harsh penalties, and I’m asking why those who bang on about this topic all the time never seem to suggest anything similar.
Here’s another one. Hire an illegal immigrant, get caught, the immigrant gets deported, and so do you. You forfeit your citizenship. Out you go.
Risk vs reward is the topic here.

Some crimes are a lot easier to enforce than others. In other words, crimes with victim.
What you're proposing are penalties harsher than many felonies, for what really equates to a misdemeanor. You're also calling for this to happen on a federal level because states would have to decide otherwise.
Forfeit citizenship? That requires a complete rewriting of our Constitution, and it violates the 8th Amendment. Really? You want to kick out Jim Bob Cooter from America who has lived here all his life because he hires Pedro to shingle his roof. C'mon. Let's get real.
So no, none of this is sensible.

As the video says, reverse the risk/reward. Make it not worth it to enter illegally. Make it too difficult. America has every right, and probably the obligation to do that without apology or explanation. So many people act as if we just can't do that, as if it's too difficult or inhumane. BS. THAT is the problem.

significantly secured - its been done before and can be done again. The problem is the establishment DC elites of Republican Inc. and the majority of Democrats (not all but most) have no real desire to stop the open border free-for-all.
The Republican Inc. crowd want the cheap labor as a pay off to their wealthy US Chamber of Commerce donors. The Democrats see a 10 million (+) future constituency who have a history of choosing a socialist governing path and are ripe for becoming future Democrat voters. The Democrats just have to figure out how to get enough jelly-spined Republicans to go along with them on a legislative granting of "legal status" and from there it will simply be a matter of time and mission creep to getting them voting rights.

A repeat of Reagan's amnesty is coming sooner or later. It took him five years to get it passed. But just like that, the number of illegal immigrants dropped to a fraction of what it was and nobody had to leave the country.

It’s hard to apprehend people when you’re being told to stand down.
This is not a chart of illegal crossings, just apprehensions.

what was the increase in the reward vs the risk for 2019? The number of apprehensions was 3 times higher than the previous years? What did DADDY do to increase the Reward in 2019? Seems like this narrative has been trashed. LOL

I don’t know what you’re talking about and I suppose that’s my fault.
I was simply making the point that if someone is crossing freely into the country then they’re not going to be figured into a chart of people being apprehended.

The OP's video is claiming that the surge in border crossings is because of the reward being greater than the risk. In 2019, the number of apprehensions exploded compared to the previous 7 years, especially among non Mexican immigrants. Why was the reward vs risk 3 times greater in the 3rd year of DADDY'S tenure vs the first 2? It seems the OP's narrative has been destroyed as the data shows there are other factors that involved into what drives mass migration. But what do you expect from "PragerU"? 😆 🤣 😂. Nice try for the OP.

The reward to live in the U.S. will always outweigh the risk(s) of getting there. That is undeniable. Not just this year or last year or any other year. If I were not born in the United States I would be doing everything possible to get here just like others are.
It seems as though you think the apprehension of illegals is a bad thing. It is not. Just like you wouldn’t let anyone in your house without vetting them, neither should any other country. We have got to do our best to understand who are entering.
What drives migration to the United States is the belief that it is still the land of opportunity. No matter what year.

I can’t have an opinion on the video the OP posted. I did not watch it. I was simply questioning your thought that apprehending more illegals trying to get into the United States is somehow a bad thing.

Birm, can your simple mind look at what's happend since 2019 and stop harping on this dead horse when there were more entries the first 4 months of 2024 than all of 2019?
Let's start with something so why won't the Democrat Senate approve this? Is it being rejected by the Dems because no money is attached? If Old Joe doesn't like it he can always use his power to veto.

My simple mind wants to know why the reward vs risk tripled in 2019 under the watchful eye of DADDY. Can you answer this, or do you want to continue to deflect and tap dance around the fact that the video in the OP is FOS? Sorry Baw, but the stats don't fit the narrative. Not my fault.

Others as well as me have answered your question multiple times in the 4 other threads you stuck this post in. That's right, four other threads you interjected this same question and you won't and wouldn't accept links to what a news agency, not FOX, but CNN said the reason was or direct quotes from Government Agencies.
Since that's not what you THINK it is or want it to be, you just continue to argue and extend the playing field with more vague questions. That is Trolldom 101 at it's finest.

Nothing has changed with the same post #4. I told you the 3rd time you posted this same question, I wasn't going to answer again because nothing I previously said had changed.
If this is your life, so be it. You can always go back to the other threads and reminisce to satisfy your perserverative behavior. Say Bye for now or until #5 comes up!
