Paul Ryan won't vote for Trump....

This is the guy who authored the 2017 Trump Tax Cut, and he's off the Trump train.
Mike Pence too, who committed the unpardonable sin of reading the results of the Electoral College to Congress on 1/6/21, has said he's not voting for Trump.
I know some of you will call them RINO's. But how often does your own VP turn against you? How often does a Speaker of the House of the same party, and a guy who authored huge tax cuts under your name, turn against you?

Some principles, huh?

Trump was, and still is, a threat to the enormous (and abused) power of the federal bureaucracy. Trump is also an enormous threat to the current iteration of the crony capitalist / political power game in which most politicians compete when aspiring to establish or increase their political power.
Everyone in elected office knew of the rules of the current crony capitalist game; some played it better (Paul Ryan comes to mind), others not so well. But everyone knew how the game was played.
Then, Trump came along.
The ‘rules of the game’ were threatened. While political outsiders recognized this potential ‘rules change’ as being potentially advantageous for their political ambitions, the incumbent politicians largely hated the potential rules change to the game.
Paul Ryan got to his position of power in Congress via navigating the system. Trump threatened that system. Ryan’s attempts to fight Trump led to P.Ryan exploring other paths to maintain, maybe even enhance, his power. Ryan leaves and goes to FoxNews. By this time, Rupert Murdoch hated Trump; Murdoch had expected Trump to reward News Corp (how so, I don’t know) for FoxNews cooperation in promoting Trump’s candidacy in 2016. When Trump decided to not reward News Corp as per Murdoch’s quid pro quo expectations, he turned against Trump with a vengeance.
The recent shift in FixNews towards supporting Trump had NLP come about after Trump slaughtered his competitors in the Republican primary. FoxNews knew that what was left of their audience after T.Carlson got fired would disappear if FoxNews supported the Democrats. Even with Paul Ryan handling the editorial aspect of FoxNews, it would have been too bad for business if Ryan’s grudges were indulged. So, at this time, Paul Ryan is sucking it.

Do you remember why Ryan had a problem with Trump? One of the early things was when Trump attacked a judge he was appearing before in 2016 for being Mexican and being biased against Trump because Trump wanted to build a wall.
That was followed by the "grab 'em by the #####" scandal, which would have ended any decent politician's career. Ryan incorrectly assumed Trump was subject to the normal rules of decency, and they moved futher apart.
what else?
Ryan suggested Trump release his tax returns like every other candidate since Nixon.
Ryan supported sanctions against Russia for election interference.
Ryan criticized Trump for not being conservative.
Ryan ended his career by remaining consistently and honestly conservative.

You don’t get elected to congress
And you most certainly don’t get elected to speaker of the house
By having principles
Let’s just get that straight right now. Either party - don’t care who you are

I disagree. Principles are the things they often end up compromising. You can't compromise them if you don't have them.
I didn't agree with all of Paul Ryan's principles when he was in office, but I never denied their existence. But the reason he's out of office is that he didn't compromise on principles.

Is the hatred that Paul Ryan and Mike Pence have for Trump new news to you?
Contrary to popular opinion, the biggest factors in a political person’s liking or disliking of another politician pertains to whether or not the other politician advances -or- reverses his / her political career.
(The same thing can be said for people with ambitions as politically appointed staffers. Politicians who advance the wanna be staffer’s career in the bureaucracy are loved; those who impair the wanna be staffer’s career are hated.)
Pence now knows that his narrative regarding VP duties, and how he chose to execute those duties, was false. Yet, he clings to that narrative because that is what the RINO wing of the Uniparty wants to hear. Pence has no future in the non-RINO wing of the Republican Party, and he knows it. Thus, with his political career done and with limited prospects as a person of influence in conservative think-tanks, his career in politics is done. He’ll do guest spots on the Sunday MSM news shows, a few here and there on MSNBC, CNN, and FoxNews. That’ll be it.
Paul Ryan had long ago revealed his RINO predilections. Ryan is a non-crying clone of former Speaker of the House John Boehner.
Goodbye to bad rubbish.
(BTW, good job by Pence on delivering Indiana to Nikki. That sure showed up Orange Man.)

Who has had pretty much every single person who worked closely with him completely turn on him? Yet his worshippers somehow think they're the problem.
If they knew an average person who had every friend he ever had turn against him, they'd realize the problem was that individual. But with Trump, they can't seem to understand it.

political operative of the likes we need to rid ourselves.
Check the guys resume... He went from political "volunteer" during college to a US Senator legislative aid upon graduation from college. From that point he never stopped working inside the DC Republican Inc. good old boy network until 1997 when the party bosses told him to spend a year back in his home state of Wisconsin to establish his residency bona fides in order to run for a Federal House seat which he won in 1998. From that point - Ryan served in Congress and became a well established Republican Inc. insider until he departed in 2018. For his whole adult life - Paul Ryan was nothing but a dutiful foot soldier in the Republican Inc. DC cabal.
That fact that Ryan "voluntarily" left DC only to start cashing in on his former political career and political connections after only 26 years of swamp membership garners no respect from me. Now if Ryan had quit politics all together and simply decided to open a hardware store in some small Wisconsin town - maybe I would view him differently...

Similar to many professional career paths in business, military, academia etc.

Diverse career paths seem scarce…. Experience and tenure can lead to competence and expertise? In fact every medical professional that I know has always been a medical professional? Yet in government and often in academia, there’s a thread of distrust and even contempt for lifers.
Of course the flip side is that people with multiple careers have diverse experiences that can provide value in government? (One has to wonder if diverse career paths are beneficial, then what other types of diversity could be beneficial?)

Here’s my complaint about politicians who have spent their entire adult working life in a job that depends upon politics or in a job as a politician or bureaucrat:
They have no tangible connection to lives of how & what productive people face. To the government careerists like P.Ryan, the value of these people is a function of their se fullness to the politician’s career and to how these people can be exploited for the acquisition of wealth for the politician.

But we once again have an example of a Red Hat (you) who decides to dislike "the other guy" when yet another one of Trump's previous associates says he won't support Trump.
There are dozens of examples of people that worked around Trump or in his administration who all say they won't support him. Even his own VP. It's unprecedented.
And every time - every single time - The Red Hats ride to Trump's rescue and blame "the other guy".
This is the definition of a Cult. And you're in it.
