Former Clemson DBs sign pro contracts |
Two former Clemson defensive backs signed contracts to play internationally in the last week.
The BC Lions of the Canadian Football League announced the signing of cornerback Garry Peters Tuesday. Peters spent the past two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, appearing in 19 games and totaling 67 tackles. “Garry is a skilled defensive back who can play both the corner and halfback spots,” BC Lions GM Ed Hervey said via press release. “He’s young, physical and gives defensive coordinator Mark Washington some options and depth in the secondary.” Former Clemson cornerback Darius Robinson signed with the 11-time German Football League champion New Yorker Lions out of Braunschweig, Germany. Robinson played in 38 games and started 25 with the Tigers, totaling six interceptions and five pass breakups. Peters made first-team All-ACC as a senior in a season with a team-high 15 pass breakups. The GFL season is set to start in late April and the CFL season begins in June.
